Hi Beautiful Sisters! Our Red Tent evening will be held at Lynell's house which is a beautifully restored historic home in Providence. We will gather in a sacred circle and have the opportunity to share with each other through out the evening. The Scorpio Full Moon will happen exactly on the night we gather so it will be extra potent! For those who are new to the concept of a Red Tent I have provided an explanation and details of our EVEning together below! These circles are truly a special experience of restoring women to sacred and magical ceremony. There is soooo much magic in our sisterhood awaiting you! I hope you can join us! Lynell’s only ask is that we leave our shoes at her doorway during our celebration. Feel free to bring a beverage and snack for yourself or to share with the group, your choice! What is a Red Tent and where did the Red Tent concept come from? The concept was adapted from a non-fiction novel by Anita Diamant in 1997. The novel is based on a “silent” female Jewish biblical character called Dinah in the book of Genesis. The book’s title refers to a red tent in which, according to ancient law, the women would take refuge in while menstruating or giving birth, where they would find mutual support and encouragement from their mothers, sisters, aunts and daughters. From this story we now have a powerful global movement of women gathering together during the New or Full Moon in Moon Lodges and Menstrual Huts to celebrate a revival of women bonding together and supporting each other around the lunar cycles, which so closely match our own menstrual cycles. What to expect from our Red Tent gathering A Red Tent is truly a sacred space where women can come together in sisterhood and feel completely safe to JUST BE with each other. We will gather in a ceremonial circle, typically comfortably sitting on the ground as we ground our energy. I will facilitate the evening and lead with a brief meditative incantation to draw our energies together in the circle. As our bodies naturally cycle with the lunar cycle, we will call upon the energy of the Scorpio Moon. The Scorpio Moon is perfect for this gathering as the Scorpio/Taurus astrological axis embodies the intrinsic feminine Goddess energies of the transformative death and re-birth cycle. As we go around the circle, each Goddess will pass the “talking stick’ and is invited to share herself vulnerably and unapologetically, but is also welcome to just soak up all of the magic quietly if she chooses. This is an opportunity to share anything you want with the group that may come up for this Full Moon. As we know, the Full Moon is a time of realizations, illuminations, culminations and/or resolutions. It may be happy or sad, whatever is on your mind or what you are feeling in your heart at the moment needing to be released for healing or celebration. We are there to hold a space for each other and to share pieces of ourselves in a supportive space, whatever that may be. In honor of the Scorpio energies, which is about death, transformation and power, we will share in a sacred Full Moon fire-burning releasing ritual. During our ceremony I will burn sage to purify our space so we can call in our Angelic guides if we wish and help with releasing our intensions. After the releasing ritual, I will then close the energies of the sacred circle with a brief guided visual incantation and meditation around the upcoming New Moon in Taurus. This will assist in preparing us for manifesting the Taurean New Moon which is related to growth, stability, and prosperity! I will leave you with a New Moon ritual perfect for performing as you wish during this upcoming Taurus New Moon on May 15th. Looking forward to sharing in our magical EVEning together SISTERS!
